September 9, 2023 The Bad Beard Events Oli Kai 6 Hours & 3 Hours is returning! We're also excited to introduce a 10K race this year! This event utilizes the beautiful trail system within the 317-acre property of Chattanooga's own Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center.
In 2001, a local runner established the region's first competitive trail races with the River Gorge 10.2 mile and Stump Jump 50k. Since then, the popularity of trail-running has exploded, to which Bad Beard Events have responded with beautiful, well-managed races that benefit both our community and our natural surroundings.
Bad Beard Events provides the Southeast region and our local community with unique trail racing experiences for top-tier athletes and those interested in running on trails for the first time. From the ultra-distance to the 5k, our series is to encourage, introduce, and challenge all runners to experience the incredible roads, trails, and natural wonders in Chattanooga's backyard.
With contributions from our long-standing industry sponsors La Sportiva and Black Diamond, as well as some of our most trusted local companies- Fast Break Athletics, Rock/Creek, Chattanooga Brewing Company, Peak Fitness and Physical Therapy, Scenic City Neurotherapy, and Horton Design- all races within Bad Beard Events will benefit a designated non-profit organization committed to the preservation, maintenance, and protection of the land within which our races take part.
See you on the trails!
