THE RACE
Description
The Rabid Raccoon, hosted by Bad Beard Events, is a middle-distance race in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The race starts at Laurel Point on Raccoon Mountain and covers the north and west sides of the mountain. Runners will take on trails like Megawatt, Grindstone Ridge, Lower Chunky, Live Wire 1 and 2, High Voltage, and Split Rock. Each year, the race changes direction to keep things fresh. In 2027, runners will go clockwise. Whether you’re racing to win or want a new challenge, this beautiful course is for you. All runners will receive a shirt, a finisher prize, and post-race food.

Can I train on the course beforehand?+
Raccoon Mountain holds 28.3 miles of trail and it is open year round. The full reservoir loop is 14.2 miles with about 1,450 feet of climbing — the closest thing to a mountain long run inside twenty minutes of downtown.
