About Stump Jump
Takes place on a 90% single-track course atop Signal Mountain and Walden Ridge. With gorgeous, jaw-dropping views of the Tennessee River Gorge and lush coves of cascading streams, hemlock, and rhododendron, these sandstone-strewn trails offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cumberland Plateau region. Elevation gain for the 50K is over 5,000 ft.

Whether you're chasing your first ultra finish or your 500th, these sandstone-strewn trails offer a world-class experience that has made the Stump Jump a bucket-list event for locals and international runners alike. Awards — Every runner receives a race shirt, a post-race meal, and free beer from Dynamo Brewing. No drop bags, no crews. Course records: Old course — Kris Whorton & David Riddle. New course — Lea Mulligan (5:21:30) & Seth Ruhling (4:09:28).
Start/Finish: Signal Mountain Soccer Fields behind Signal Mountain High School, 2650 Sam Powell Road, Signal Mountain, TN 37377. Strict policies: NO crews, NO drop bags, NO refunds/transfers/deferments. The race will not be held for late arrivals — arrive early. On-site shoe demos from La Sportiva and Rossignol. Multiple bathrooms at the pavilion. Camping available on the soccer fields ($10/night, benefits Signal Mountain School; tents and RVs welcome but no hookups or showers — contact ginny@badbeardevents.com or Venmo @badbeardevents). Off-site lodging ~20 min in downtown Chattanooga or Airbnb on Signal Mountain. Proceeds benefit Signal Mountain Athletics and Chattanooga Cave and Cliff Rescue.
